Your donation makes a vital contribution to the success of the campaign

The Save Symondshyde Campaign needs your support to help it fight against this proposed threat to the Green Belt.

So far we have focused on encouraging residents and local councils to object to the plans, raising awareness of their impact in the local press and putting in our own very detailed objection.

With some of the funds that we raised last year we employed a planning consultant to help guide our formal response. This help proved invaluable.

Later this year, an independent inspector will examination Welwyn Hatfield’s Local Plan.  This will be the last opportunity to stop the Symondshyde development.  The arguments will become more technical, so we will require professional representation at this examination, which will be expensive.  We will therefore be stepping up our fund raising activities and continue to raise awareness of the issue locally.

If you think you can help us then please get in touch. We are always keen to hear from people who can deliver leaflets, join us on action days, give donations or come up with good ideas for fund-raising activities.

Until we publicised the plans, most people in the neighbourhood hadn’t heard about the proposal. Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council did their bare minimum to publicise this during their consultation. Donations are still required to continue. A leaflet run costs around £100, banners are about £90. Legal support during the Government Inspector’s review will run to many £,000s.  Many local people are giving their spare time to help run the campaign, raise awareness of the proposal and lobby local politicians.  Even if you can’t physically get involved to prevent the destruction of Symondshyde, we’d really appreciate it if you could donate towards the cause.  Your donation WILL help to ensure the ultimate success of the campaign.
