About

Save Symondshyde

We are predominately a group drawn from the local area, but also from many parts of Hertfordshire, who feel this is the wrong place to create a large hole in the greenbelt.

A group of concerned locals first met in the John Bunyan (a pub nearby to the development) in February 2016 when the proposal came to light.  The Save Symondshyde campaign began.

Despite an online petition being submitted to Welwyn Hatfield, signed by 1,200 petitioners, the plans were still approved by their Planning Committee and councillors agreed to include a proposed satellite village at Symondshyde in its draft Local Plan.
